Burnout

literally exhaustion, indicates the stress experienced at work that determines a psychophysical and emotional wear.

Circular economy

production and consumption model based on the idea of extending the life cycle of products.

Cooperative

according to The International Cooperative Alliance, “a cooperative is an autonomous association of persons united voluntarily to meet their common economic, social and cultural needs and aspirations through a jointly owned and democratically controlled enterprise”.

Cooperative Governance

the structures and control systems through which cooperative societies are led and by which managers are held accountable. There are various models of cooperative governance in practice. The classical model of cooperative governance involves the General Assembly (formed of all the members), which elects the BoD (Board of Directors), who, in its turn appoints the executive managers. Especially in larger cooperatives, a Supervisory board is also appointed from among the members, with the purpose of controlling the activity of the BoD on behalf of the General Assembly.

Cooperative Union

a cooperative society whose members are at least two primary cooperatives operating in the same business field or at district levels (legal definition and requirements might vary across countries).

Corporate image

Also called brand image, it is the way in which a company presents itself to its public, and includes elements such as design, values and attitudes.

E-commerce

E-commerce is the buying and selling of products or services over the Internet.

European Cooperative Society

a European Cooperative Society (Societas Cooperativa Europaea – SCE) is an optional legal form of cooperative company, aimed at facilitating the cross-border and transnational activities of cooperatives.

Extrinsic motivation

Motivation that comes from a stimulus that comes from outside.

Green economy

economic system oriented towards promoting human well-being and social equity by reducing environmental risks and ecological scarcities.

Green entrepreneurship

actions aimed at the production of goods and services that are environmentally friendly throughout the production processes (transformation, marketing and distribution of the product).

Green jobs

refers to jobs that contribute to the preservation, improvement and restoration of the environment in any economic sector.

ICT tool

An Information and Communication Technology tool is a technology that is used to process, manage and distribute information through digital devices such as computers or smartphones, and make communication a more efficient process.

Intersectionality

overlapping (or "intersection") of different social identities and their possible particular discrimination, oppression, or domination.

Intrinsic motivation

Motivation of a person when he acts in a way or performs a task for the mere pleasure of doing it.

Multi-stakeholder Cooperative

a cooperative owned and controlled by multiple types of members (producers, consumers, workers, volunteers). The stakeholders can be natural persons or other organizations (non-profits, businesses, government agencies, other cooperatives), including other cooperatives.

Password

It is an authentication key that must be secret as it allows a user to access a file, a computer or a program. It is composed of letters, numbers and special characters.

Plugin

Plugins are add-ons that provide extra functionality or enhancements to other programs, allowing you to extend the functionality of another application.

Prioritize

assign a priority to a series of objects, events, or similar.

Self esteem

Positive or negative assessment that the person has of himself based on his self-concept. This is accompanied by feelings of personal worth and self-acceptance.

Self-assessment

It is the way in which we judge ourselves in the different areas of our lives (our physical and cognitive qualities, interests, abilities, etc.).

Self-knowledge

It is the image of ourselves that we form from self-perceived abilities and characteristics.

Smartworking (or agile work)

it is a particular mode of execution of the work performance introduced in order to improve productivity and the reconciliation of life and work times, without precise constraints of time and place and by the means of technological tools.

Sustainable development

represents the trend that aims to ensure economic growth, environmental care and social welfare.

Work-life balance

the amount of time we spend at work compared to what we devote to family and social relationships, but also to health and the pursuit of our personal interests.
